It's 10 Euro/year which is quite reasonable.  Didn't news.individual.net
used to be free at one time from memory?

Yup , my mistake. Still not free though. However apart from my ISP
fees I don't see why I should pay to access public newsgroups anymore
than I would to access public web sites.
