Anything else of insignificance not happen in your miserable excuse
for a life ?
You guys fall for it and get spectacularly wound up over Doug's
trolling each and every time!
Reminds me of David Longley from the early days of
uk.adverts.computer. Remember him? He used to regularly wind the
group up by asking outrageous prices for bits of old tat! The
reactions of some were hysterial at times - they were almost
frothing at the mouth!
My belief is that David L. was an academic (ISTR psychology was his
area) who used unwitting Usenet denizens for some type of research
he was doing into human behaviour. David Longley is definitely an
academic - Doug, I'm not so sure.
Whatever Doug's motivation, he certainly has no reason to desist
from his trolling given the spectacular results he provokes :)
However, I do not regard myself as a troll as I am mainly reflecting
issues published by the media which exhibits a degree of support for
my views and which are obviously not shared by the motorists and other
hypermobilists who choose to dominate this transport newsgroup. If
this, and other NGs, were not thus dominated and represented a more
balance viewpoint on their core subjects I would have little reason to
post there. So you see, I regard myself as something of a public
service trying to right a wrong.
