Exactly the opposite of what he states, rather than the current system
being "tightly controlled" the current system has a high degree of
anarchy and freedom of choice, hence Braess's Paradox may apply - the
probability is actually 50:50 in current traffic conditions. However in
a tightly controlled environment Braess's Paradox can never apply.

Rubbish. How can loads of traffic laws, cameras, fines etc be deemed
anarchic, Filth?

Because none of those constrain traffic to use a particular route.

But they do constrain traffic behaviour while treating certain routes
preferentially.

Re: Braess's Paradox. "Furthermore, it is indicated by an example that
an extension of the road network may cause a redistribution of the
traffic that results in longer individual running times." And this
even ignores the encouragement given to drivers' travel by ever more
roads.

Once again you fail to understand English. The word "may" does not
indicate "always does".

So now you are disagreeing with the original article?

[snip]

The point you are avoiding is that pandering to drivers with perpetual
roadbuilding and measures to speed them on their way merely encourages
more travel leading to even more congestion, pollution and mass-car
blight. On the other hand, just letting them wallow in their own
congestion would provide an active deterrent to their unnecessary
travel.

The point you are avoiding is that the above paragraph is complete
bollocks. Building roads can, and does, provide safe reliable journeys.

Only until they too become congested by encouraging more travel.

What Braess's paradox tells us that when creating these roads care must
be taken to avoid offering the driver too many choices of routes, and in
particular to avoid route networks which look like the one in the
diagram on the Wikipedia page that you have quoted without attributing
your source, again.

How can more roads not offer more routes?

Some things, like Duhg's underpants, never change.

As usual, Filth,  you have everything arse about face.

It's you that has a face like an arse. Perhaps some kind soul will post
a link to an image of your face for everyone to see the resemblance.

Try sticking to the issue for a change instead of your stupid
evasions.
