Why bother replying to his posts? He's just a deluded, bitter but
otherwise fairly harmless old duffer who obviously has little else to
do with his life other than to endlessly post on here. So why let him
work you up into a lather? Just ignore him and eventually he'll get
bored and go find another sandpit to play in.

I would love to have my news posts uncontested and free from the usual
personal insults, and occasional death threats, from the motorists who
dominate this transport newsgroup. Please, please, do not respond.

In which case, what would be the point of you posting?

Duhg sees usenet as a 'post only' medium. Its not about debate, its
about Lugless telling us all what we should do.

Almost right, Void, but not quite. Its about compensating for the pro-
car propaganda, fanatical machismo and wander-lust prevalent on this
newsgroup, coupled with its strident criticisms of just about every
other form of transport except, of course, holiday flights. Like the
UK, this newsgroup is dominated by hypermobile motorists, which gives
a very skewed view of transport as a whole.

This newsgroup is dominated by ordinary people. Many ordinary people
drive a car, van, or lorry. Some oordinary people also use
motorcycles or cycles.

The problem is Doug, you are not ordinary. What do have against
ordinary people. Do you think that we should be the same as you,
someone who repesents only a small minority of people.

Only a smallish majority of the population drive cars but the power
they have over the rest of us is excessive. By power I mean the power
to obstruct, inconvenience, poison, and kill and injure with relative
impunity. They also have political power due to the car culture and
its predominant staffing of police, courts and the government, as well
as its consumerist influence on multinationals.
