It certainly is.

Very different from my friend whose car somersaulted: maybe that
happened because she hit the central reservation or the verge next to
the hard shoulder after the car swerved.

Indeed - cars rarely roll, let alone "somersault" without hitting things.
There just isn't enough grip.
