I know that fuel prices are upsetting many of you, but I think
flexibility and stoicism is needed now. Just be patient. The high
price is sending strong signals to the corporations and
governments, and getting the gears to turn fast.

Why does what you "think" matter a rat's ass?

Why are you being so rude? I only posted a message on usenet. That's
all. It's not like I personally attacked you or anything. Just take
it or leave it. Give me your thoughts if you have any, or ignore my
message if you don't. But please don't be rude.

This newsgroup is dominated by motorists who seem to think they have a
natural right to drive their polluting gas-guzzlers to their heart's
content, regardless of their impact on the planet and its people. At
the same time they treat other forms of transport, apart from flying,
with utter contempt. So any attempt to post an alternative message
here will inevitably be met with concerted derision and abuse.

So, don't take it personally. A significant percentage of people in
the real world have not made themselves car dependent and are not in
love with cars, it is just that this particular newsgroup is not
representative of them, despite its name.

With Doug as the leader of the "unrepresentative" pack.
