Once again Doug shows that he has not got a clue about the carbon
cycle. Trees adsorb CO2, and produce oxygen, they are needed for the
*long term* health of the planet. But what else can one expect from
someone who want to rip up the rainforests.

Trees soon die and release their CO2

Sorry I keep forgetting just how scientifically illiterate you are.
Whilst the tree is alive it locks out all of the carbon, reducing the
amount in the atmosphere.
When the tree dies, it can be used to make paper, and the wood can be
used for building, and the by-products used for fuel.
The wood used for building etc, can lock out the carbon for centruies,
possibly thousands of years.

Centuries are still a spec in time compared to the millions of years
of oil, you scientific illiterate.

but the oil wasted by motorists like you is gone forever.

And there lies the crux of the matter. You think that *everyone* bar
yourself is a motorist. Yet I walk or cycle everywhere, and you insist
on using planes to fly your food in from ex-rainforests.

Just like you, hypocrite, but I don't waste energy on cars or on farm
animals as you do.

On top of that, you don't even like modern jets, you prefer older less
fuel efficient planes. (And yes, you did say something like that).

Liar! All commercial planes are energy wasters and only a few are
essential.

The question is what
climate change scam will they fall for next following their compulsory
consumption of harmful biofuels?

Unless we want to go back to the dark ages, we need biofuels.

No, what you need is to travel less and stop wasting valuable, non-
renewable resources. Biofuels can never replace oil at its present
level of consumption.

My guess is the fuel from waste scam.

So rather than waste being incinerated to produce energy, which does
result in some CO2, much of which is from farmed crops (that carbon
cycle again). You would rather it were buried, where it can produce
that wonderful CH4 instead?

Nope. I am in favour of a reduction in waste.

So why do you insist on buying all your food from Tescos.

I don't by all my food from Tesco, liar.

Have you
seen the amount of waste they produce *before* the over packaged air
freighted food hits the shelves? Then add to that the excess food
packaging and carrier bags that the customer takes home. Hypocrite!.

I reuse my bags and what I don't reuse goes to recycling, you motorist
hypocrite.!

So what do we do with the waste we actually produce, brush it under
the carpet and hope it magically vanishes.

Minimise it and recycle it, obviously. Don't waste energy and pollute
by trying to turn waste into fuel for cars so that motorists can
travel even further and more than they do now. Organic waste can be
turned into useful fertiliser instead of biofuel.

As yet there is no
evidence that biofuel from waste is viable, economic or less harmful

Yes there is, have you not seen the waste incinerators popping up
around the country?

What has that got to do with fuel for cars? Incinerators give off
toxic gases.

and it certainly will never be sufficient to equal the present level
of energy consumption of motorists.

Of course it won't, just like we can't produce all of our electricity
from wind or solar power.

Glad you recognise that fact. So what are you doing to reduce your
energy consumption?
