You see what I mean about 'blaming the vulnerable victim' to try to
excuse the killer?

Again, if you are in sole charge of a lethal machine in a public place
and do not have sufficient control to stop in time when your way is
blocked by a human body you should be held solely responsible for the
ensuing death and be punished in line with other sorts of killings. It
is only the fact that motorists are privileged and are allowed to
dominate both government and the legal system that this is not so.
