At least that has the benefit of a railhead, although I suspect it's not
been used for "quite some time".

Other than that, it seems a move of certifiable insanity. The A303 is
awful both east and west bound. The routes north and south are
non-existent. It's a drive down the A303 to the M3 for traffic towards
London. For the Midlands it's A303/A34 north and for the ports it's
A303/A34 south, with a junction at Winchester that's congested during
every rush hour.

Quite near Southampton docks with reasonable access to the A34 which
then opens up the whole country.
