A litre of unleaded petrol now costs 100.08p, according to the latest
data from industry researchers Catalist.
Petrol prices have risen sharply on the back of record global oil
prices, which have increased as a result of supply concerns and the
weak dollar.
Not good news for the poor who are already suffering higher food costs
as it is; this will only add to food inflation as the haulage costs
are passed on to the end customer.
Sadly the poor are also the group least able to take your advice and
change jobs/move house to avoid car dependency. They also tend to be
the group working the most anti social hrs so tend to have jobs that
require cars. Overall this isn't good for the poor at all so I'd say
its quite disappointing in my eyes; still I'm glad to see at least you
are happy about it.
