I have done. A while ago you provided us with your carbon footprint and
the calculator you used. I went off and calculated mine. It was 1/4 of
yours. And that included using the car.

OK, here's an example.

You cook a meal that takes 30 minutes and uses X amount of electicity.
I cook a meal that takes 30 minutes and uses X amount of electricity -
the same amount as you - BUT BECAUSE THERE ARE 4 PEOPLE IN MY HOUSE
THAT THE MEAL IS BEING COOKED FOR, my personal electricty use is 1/4 of
the total amount.
Same for lighting, heating water, central heating etc etc etc.

Single people in housing is a really wasteful use of resources and a
lot of pollution comes from the home.
Like car sharing perhaps single people should consider a lodger? That
could reduce the need to build so many new houses for a start ( all of
which would need road access and resources to build and power)

Perhaps you and Doug would be so kind to post your carbon footprints
and the calculator we should use to compare them to see how we all
shape up?
