what time do you leave by car?

About 0400-0415 usually.

Where do you stop?

Stop? Why would I need to stop?

To take a pee, drink a cup of coffee to stay awake?

Are you capable of doing a days worth of work after driving all that
way?

I've not had any problems yet. Why, do you regard a 4 AM start as
particularly challenging? My other occupation is farming, 4AM is when
everyone else is making a start.

Oh right!

And why is there no train at that time of day?

Same reason most people are still in bed.

Why not go up the day before and stay in a hotel?

Oh indeed, I mean why I don't I travel up there by narrow boat and
admire England's green and pleasant land along the way? Perhaps I should
stop off every fifty miles or so to plant native deciduous broad leaved
trees, compose a haiku on the fragility of cherry blossoms and, possibly
paint a masterpiece in watercolours to commemorate the event?

So you don't have a good reason not to stay in a hotel then, excpet
you are mean?

Or possibly, just possibly the fact that my presence is required
elsewhere the day before may have a teeny, weeny effect on my travel
decisions?

Porr planning by the sound of it!

And have you ever stayed in a hotel in Middlesbrough? Believe me, it's
not an experience one would wish to undergo for longer than necessary.
Although with a car I can stay in North Yorkshire and drive into work.
By rail I'd have no choice I'd have to stay in the city centre.

Yes I have; no taxis in Middlesborough then?

Even less stressful I'd have thought.

Uh huh, nice to see that those who prefer rail appear to have infinite
leisure time.

Yup I'm retired at 55 Brilliant isn't it, while poor sods like you
have to get up at 4AM, drive 5 hours to Middlesborough, work 9 to 5,
drive back to Hampshire arriving about 10PM, no stops remember. Thats
no kind of life is it. I just the pay is good or you don't fall
asleep behind the wheel.

I'm impressed by your energy, if I stick a broom up your arse will you
sweep the floor as well? :-)
