BTW there was an Indymedia tent there with a dozen laptop computers
connected to a wi-fi network (powered by a diesel generator).

They were using biodiesel.

Let's cast our minds back to this evidence you produced about Biofuels:

http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.transport/msg/d91a41ac705a25b4

"But making these fuels takes a lot of oil - to make and run farm
machinery, to produce pesticides and fertilisers, and to process the
harvest into fuel. Some sceptics have argued that the emissions
produced are so high that using biofuels may not reduce overall
emissions at all..."

Have you ever heard the term 'hoist by your own petard', Doug?

Can't you distinguish between ethanol and biodiesel? The fuel they were
using was used chip fat.

It's obvious that *you* were not distinguishign between ethanol and
biodiesel:

http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.transport/msg/d91a41ac705a25b4

"Both ethanol biofuel, made from corn, and biodiesel, made from
soybeans, have been touted as alternative fuels that can reduce
greenhouse gas emissions, because they remove carbon dioxide from the
atmosphere as they grow.

But making these fuels takes a lot of oil - to make and run farm
machinery, to produce pesticides and fertilisers, and to process the
harvest into fuel. Some sceptics have argued that the emissions
produced are so high that using biofuels may not reduce overall
emissions at all..." "

See that in the first paragraph? Biodiesel.

You have really lost it this time. You are now agreeing with me that
biofuels made from crops are not 'green' at all while ignoring the fact
that the biodiesel used by the protesters was old frying oil which
would have been thrown away anyway.

A point you also missed is that ethanol production is more energy
intensive than biodiesel production and you obvously couldn't see the
difference.

Suggest you study this subject before posting on it in future.
