What you and others seem to overlook, blinded by your own energy hungry
hypocrisy, is that a publicising action over a few days is much less
damaging than a filthy coal fired power station operating 24/365
quietly in the background, which you and your motorist chums seem to
take completely for granted and probably have never given it a second
thought as you chug around blithely around in your filthy cars.

The emissions standards for your filthy polluting buses are far more lax
than they are for modern cars, as has been demonstrated to you many
times.

Relevance of buses in this context? Also cars are far more numerous
than buses and therefore more polluting. It takes about ten cars to
equal the average occupancy of a bus.

The coal-fired power stations help to provide the electricity for
your multiple computers - last time I checked, Drax wasn't powering my
car.

What about your home?

Incidentally, if you peruse Indymedia you will discover that all rail
access to the site was shut on Thursday and some of the operating
machinery was also switched off.

If you've read many of my posts you'll know I'm a global warming
sceptic.

Ah an admission at last! How many more of you on this list flying in
the face of current scientific/political opinion and hard evidence,
because you are a gross CO2 emitter anyway and couldn't give a damn
about the consequences of your actions to others and the planet?

Clearly you haven't read many of my posts, or are too thick to
understand them, if you have ever got the impression that I share your
opinion on global warming. Allow me to clarify my position for you:

1) I don't dispute that there is a process called global warming, which
is contributed to by several greenhouse gases, the most significant
being water vapour, followed by CFCs, methane and, further down the
list, CO2, of which about 4% is attributable to human activity.

2) The jury is still out on whether there actually is a marked warming
trend over the past few decades - there is a discrepancy between
satellite measurements and surface temperature records, the latter of
which may be distorted by urban heat island effects.

3) Global temperature records prior to the invention of the thermometer
obviously do not exist. Both sides of the argument have to rely on proxy
data, including ice cores, tree rings and contemporary historical
accounts. This is not "hard evidence", it is conjecture.

4) The climate prediction models are highly sophisticated computer
models but they are still ONLY MODELS. Computer modelling can't even get
the weather right one week ahead and yet you would have us believe that
predictions of the weather 100 years ahead are spot on! Blind faith is
the domain of the religious, Doug.

5) These projections often do not factor in natural fluctuations in
global temperatures attributable to known phenomena such as Milankovitch
cycles, solar flares, the earth's precession on its axis etc.

Given all the above discrepancies, I find there is considerable room for
doubt on some of the more outlandish claims of climate change, even if
anthropogenic GW turns out to exist and have any significant impact.

So you think it OK to sit back with your head in the sand and do
nothing while CO2 levels increase at an uprecedented rate, as do sea
levels?

You have a clear agenda of wanting to impose lifestyle changes on the
whole population and have seized upon GW as a convenient bandwagon to
achieve your objectives. I doubt you really give a rat's arse about the
environment at the end of the day, you're simply obsessed with trying to
control people's lives. You just can't let go of your Stalinist past
completely, can you?

I don't have a Stalinist past, liar. I believe that people and the
planet need to be protected from people like you, who are in denial
because you wish to be allowed to pollute uncontrollably for your own
selfish purposes.

I only visited the camp because it's local to me and I wanted
to see things with my own eyes. Ironically the police now have my name
and car registration and no doubt I'm on some list as an eco-loony even
though my views are diametrically opposed. It's a funny old world.

Did they search you and if so how thoroughly? Not to worry, I have been
photographed/videoed hundreds of times over the years as part of the
general police intimidation strategy aimed at political dissenters and
it has caused me very few problems. Of course, I don't have a number
plate to bother me nor the laws which make the motorist highly
vulnerable to police scrutiny. Your choice.

I was searched about half a dozen times, of varying thoroughness.

So they treated you as a protester?

They
did in fact act illegally on a couple of occasions and a report is being
prepared for the IPCC so I'll say no more on that.

You are wasting your time. Our police are above the law, as recent
history clearly shows.
