that is despite there being 5 million more cars on the road. Perhaps you
should direct your concerns at the area of road transport that is producing
more CO2 rather than the area that isn't. The number of HGVs has fluctuated
over the years but in 2004 it was the same as 1994. Why are they producing
more CO2?
Because they're bigger, on average, and they drive further, in total,
than ten years ago. A lot of which is due to the increasing demands of
city-dwellers like Doug for more and more stuff to be dropped at their
dooorsteps.
