No, that's your perception and pre-conceived prejudice of what motorists want.
I'd have an electric car tomorrow, if I could buy one for the same price I bought my Landrover for (£7ooo) if it could carry my kids and luggage and tow a caravan or trailer.
Be nice if it could also haul two tons out of the quarry and woods we own too, which has very little to do with high speed. :)
