BT doorphone with Mitel exchange?

We've just switched from a BT exchange to a Mitel 3300, and somehow
connecting up the doorphone to the new exchange got left out of the
installation contract. Now we can't make it work, even though we are
reasonably technical...

Has anybody else connected the doorphone from a 'BT Revelation' exchange
to a Mitel? It *looks* like it should just be a normal two wire
connection which acts like an exchange line to (fixed) ext.23, but it
doesn't seem to work...
