At this stage I don't want to splash out and replace all this kit with
something better, like the Philips/Seimens dual DECT/VOIP phones, that would
be technological overkill.
I've recently purchased a wireless Plantronics 510 USB headset for use with
my Skype account.
I'm now looking for a solution that will allow me to channel
incoming/outgoing DECT calls through the PC so that I use the Plantronics
headset for both DECT and VOIP calls.
Come on, are you really going to all this trouble so you can use a
headset with Skype.
Get an ATA, as I, and another, have suggested and you can use it with
your DECT phones and landline. You won't need to ave your computer
switched on at all. If you want to play at using Skype then use your
headset - but Skype is a plaything, it really isn't worth putting
money into.
Invest in a good ATA, set it up appropriately and you won't regret it.
