Sorry, I was a bit unclear there. Yes, the phone is behind an ADSL
filter. The problem is the same whether the BT 1000 is connected in
front of or behind the filter.

Then the filter may be ineffective, as far as the Cd1000 is concerned. Try another type if you can get hold of one.
