Adding handsets and door entry system to an Avaya ip403 Switch

Hi,
I am doing some research on behalf of a friend
His business currently has an Avaya ip403 VOIP Switch with 8 Digital
Handsets. They are looking to add a couple of "extentions", but there
are no more digital ports free. There are a number of data ports free,
and also one Analogue port.
They dont want to go to the expense of a 16 port expansion module just
to add one or two extensitions, so that leaves either analogue, or
VOIP.
Is anyone familiar with this switch and can tell me what is involved in
adding an analogue phone (plug it in and do a bit of programming via a
web interface??) and what loss of funtionality if any there would be on
this ext verses the existing digital exts (Avaya 2030)? I would be
thinking of recommending a phe with caller disp and handsfree for this
location.
If they add one or more VOIP handsets, again , what is involved? I
know that a voice compression card would be required (how can I check
if one of these is already fitted?). Is it then
programming/configuration of the handsets and the switch via web
interfaces? or what?
Again, what funtionality would they gain / loose?
Lastly, I see frm Google that a number of people have asked in the past
about interfacing these systems to door entry systems (there is a dual
relay output on the back fo drive the door release) Has anyone managed
to do this? If so, could you tell how you did it and what results you
got.
TIA
Chris
