Quoting from Ofcom, eh?. Let's try the paragraphs immediately before and
after the one you've quoted, shall we?
"Increased competition has led BT to reduce the prices it charges for
local and national geographic calls, either through headline price
reductions or through the increased use of call discount packages."
BT are using call discount packages for residential customers. They are
calling them BT Together Options 1, 2 and 3. Note the use of the word
*discount*.
"The prices of 0870 and 0845 calls for BT customers have not risen. In
fact, after discounts are taken into account the average price paid by
BT customers has reduced regularly during the last 8 years."
The prices for 0870 numbers have not risen. The price paid *before
discounts* has reduced regularly over the last 8 years.
What were you saying about "convenient" quoting/snipping?
