You are calling me thick? Because I comprehend the BT retail price list
better that a hypothetical "average Joe"?

I'd actually have thought that you would have commented on the factual
inaccuracy regard the statement that BT charge 0871 numbers as National
call rate!

Clearly it is confusing to people. I do not know why, though.

"National call rate" and "at the same price as a national geographic
call" are clearly different things which may be related by some common
point. In this case, the relation is in the undiscounted price. Note
that BT Together customer also get discounts on 0870 calls of the
standard tariff, albeit a very small discount.
