I received a text message this morning from 3 Alerts stating I'd used the internet yesterday and that I could check my usage using their mobile site. As I never use their internet service I checked and discovered £13.32 had been chalked up on my current spend. I called 3, however all they could say was that the usage had been recorded between a 1 1/2 hr period when I could not have used the phone as I was asleep for the first 1/2 hr of which with the phone tucked away inside my coat pocket. The phone is a Nokia N70 and the keypad was locked. No one else in house could have used phone so it can't have been me. Only thing I did to my phone yesterday was install Nokia Maps. This was after the time period outlined by 3 and did not involve any internet downloads. For the maps etc you have to remove the MMC as Nokia's Map Loader does not work using a data cable connected direct to the phone. That's all beside the point anyway as it was after the fact. 3 state they can't do anything until my next bill is drawn up which isn't for almost another month. This seems ridiculous if its fraudulent use involved and they can't investigate quickly enough. Obviously a bit concerned what with xmas coming and the knowledge that these companies just take the money first then ask questions later.

Did you install the maps program and all of the maps data?

I know the maps thing does eat up the data downloading maps for the area you're currently in.
