I look forward to seeing their range of flat-packed handsets (supplied with too few screws, and those of the wrong size)!

I've never found anything missing from any Ikea stuff I've bought. OK, the office chair I bought with a ten year guarantee wore out after four years (and then they claimed the g'tee was only three years) has rather put me off buying from them, but I've never bought flatpacks from thenm with missing screws.

I've decorated a property with about £4,000 pounds worth of Ikea furniture this year. We've suffered missing fittings, damaged fittings, scratched surfaces, and incorrectly sealed panels among other things. We worked out that there was a serious problem with 1 in 3 items, which IMO is totally unacceptable.

They replaced a panel that arrived damaged with one that had already been returned because it was damaged. You could see where the previous customer had drawn on the area with ink to mark it. I can't remember how many sixty mile round journey's we had to make because they refused to exchange items via the post. They also promised a fuel refund, but when we got there, said their rules stated they could give us no more than £5. @_@

Ikea weren't like this ten years ago, but they're sure as hell a nightmare right now, if you intend to buy a lot of their products.

(You might ask why we carried on buying their stuff given problems at the early stage, but once we started, we couldn't really stop. The whole budget was based around Ikea prices .. and the interior design demanded the uniformity of their product range. Never again anyway.)
