Yes, I know there are workarounds, but they're a bit fiddly.

You have flashed to the 2007 OS/N800 Firmware - can you install Skype?

I did, yes - very easy to install.

I need to check out the bit about multimedia on that page, though.

I would be interested to see if Skype works as well. I have a N770 but have
had no reason to upgrade to the 2007 OS as the 2006 seems rock stable.
However if Skype does work that would be a reason!
