I'm after it as part of a contract.
Have just spoken with Vodafone and they will be launching it on the
22nd September. He wasn't sure about what tarrifs it would be
available with but said he would be suprised if it was available
without the customer shelling out something for the handset - even on
the top tarrifs!
What do you think of the phone? Any good?
Ta,
inky
Good points.
The screen is very good, especially viewing images/video/web in landscape
mode but playing games can be difficult. The best I have seen so far.
The camera is good. Taking pictures during the day in well lit areas is
very good. The video capture is great BUT I wouldn't say its dvd quality
but its very close. Been good viewing my clips on a my 42" plasma. Also
good on pc monitor. It has two cameras but vie always used the main one.
Am sure you can edit what you've captured for video but I haven't used it as
I do all my video edits on computer. Don't even thing about taking images or
video in near dark places unless ur only a few feet from the subject. The
light on the phones too weak.
If you've used the symbian platform before or any other nokia, then I don't
have to tell you how user friendly the menus are apart from network
connections like WI-FI and home networking.
Software package is so, nothing great about the pre-installed software. I
find it handy being about to view pdfs and office documents but I wouldn't
want to do a lot of editing. Sny software is good. let you transfer images,
contacts etc. The usb cable is a big advantage for me as I have several
things connected to my bluetooth.
It has podcast and life blog. If you've ever come across sites like youtube,
bebo etc The software on the cd and on nokia site will let you do just about
exactly everything they youtube and bebo do from your phone.
Audio is great! Comparing to one of my last smartphones, (motorola mpx220)
very clear/ loud speakers for calls or video. I haven't used the headpiece
yet.
The T.V out is great! play ur games on ur phone and watch it on the telly.
Whatever your doing on ur phone, it'll show on the T.V too.
Bad points.
When your recording video and using zoom. You can hear the camera motor! its
clear in playback but shouldn't be a problem if your capturing somewhere
where there's a lot of noise. I did however find it strange that you
couldn't capture video with the flip down and having the front screen as the
viewfinder.
The size. It is pretty big but that's because of the camera, there is a
fiddly plastic camera cover which I find good. Saves you scratching the
bloody thing but theve given you like black string thing to tie on to the
cover and to the hand strap part at the bottom of the phone.
If your planning on taking a lot of pictures and video buy second battery..
The two things that will run it dry very quickly. I find that it runs dry
for me round bout third day.
barcode reader?! don't know if its bad or good but I don't know why there's
a barcode reader application? It works but I don't know why someone would
want one on their phone.
I don't know what you do for a living but I travel a bit and I knew this
phone would be great for me. I don't need to carry a camera with me, I can
listen to music and watch anything that I have encoded. Viewing word and
pdf documents.
If you need more info, there's a few sites that have done reviews on it.
Just google.
