Take a look at this thread: http://tinyurl.com/jyupz
Easymobile would have charged me £2.08 to close my account but i used
their online support to query it and they immediately dropped the
£2.08 i 'owed' them.
Hassle them on their online support - you may find they'll drop the
excess charge.
There should be no cancellation fee.
Below is from the General FAQ's (Fully quoted further below and taken
from the following link):-
https://www.easymobile.com/selfcare/emcontent/cust_services/customer_intro.html#44
(I suggest everyone saves a copy of this)
What this says is that
"In line with our Terms & Conditions, we are unable to refund payments
made by E Voucher, or any Bonus Airtime. Bundles do not hold any
monetary value."
It then says
"Upon receiving your request to cancel your easyMobile SIM Card, if you
would like a refund of any remaining airtime paid for by Credit/Debit
Card of £5.01 or more, we will apply a £5 administration charge. This
small charge is deducted from your airtime balance before we take any
further action. "
But as you will usually have no remaining paid for airtime, there is no
need for a £5 administration charge for refunding it, so as I see it,
you cannot go into negative balance. If you do have any remaining 'paid
for airtime', and it is below £5, tell them you do not want this
refunded, then they can't charge you the administration charge for
administering it.
