Re: Treo 600 on Orange

No word on when it might be on Orange, if at all. In fact, I guess it
might not be, because it'll compete with Orange's own line of (some
other brand's rebadged) smartphones. And because it's better than most
of them...

I've been doing a similar search, cause I want to keep my OVP tariff,
but would like a newer smartphone. I thought the Nokia 9300i would be a
slamdunk, but I didn't realise the synchronisation was so involved.
T-Mobile has the MDA Vario (smartphone with QWERTY keyboard that slides
out from the side); on O2 it's badged the XDA Mini S, I think, but
Orange has decided not to stock it. Easy to unlock at home, apparently.

Failing that, if you don't mind carrying a dinner plate around, have
you considered the SPV M2000 (also badged XDAIIs, MDA something or
other)?

Final option - have you searched for online Orange retailers that might
still have the Treo 650? If they have old stock lying about, it's an
option. I'd sell you mine (nice bit of kit, apart from when it
crashes), except that I don't have a replacement. See above for why
not.... ;c)

Nick

either wait for the 700p (palm OS version of the 700W) or get yourself a 650 from another network: easy to unlock.
700 isn't all that much different to 650 to be honest.
If you want the best Outlook synch you're probably looking at a Windows Mobile handset though.
Nokia synch's crap, as is Sony-Ericsson - it does basic stuff but it falls down on stuff like details fields in calendar appointments etc.
