Does anyone know if the Sat Nav will work after the contract has ended or if
you need to keep the contract going after the 18 months for Sat Nav to work.

This device is a Windows Pocket PC with a built-in phone. The GPS
software has nothing to do with the phone bit (except for the CoPilot
Live features which you may not want to use anyway).

However, in general, you'll not want to use it as a PDA if the phone
bit isn't working (there are better PDAs standalone).

Remember that a GPS navigation system that you've had for 18 months
will have maps at least two years out of date, so chances are you'll
want to upgrade it by then.

I think the need to upgrade maps can be exagerated. The roads in the UK don't change that much.
