It's common for liquid damage to get worse over time.
Wash in hot soapy water, after removing all mechanical bits.
Rinse in hot distilled water.
Dry in oven at 870C for 6 hours.
Reassemble.
It probably still won't work.
And your chances of getting a schematic is bugger all.
