They told me that they do not automatically transfer people to 3pay, they
only do it if u ask. I told them I never requested to be set up on 3pay-
ever, just end the contract but the lady I spoke to insisted I did - what
can u say to something like that?

They said the reason the customer service department couldn't see my records
was because I had requested to be transferred to 3pay.

Anyway I think they should still be able to see your records if u r not on
threepay. Also as I understand it, the direct debit mandate will be
cancelled after the 12th payment has been taken. If they want any more money
they will send u a bill and request payment so don't worry about DD.
