A customer has just got broadband and the Voyager 2091 router than his ISP
supplies.

I've noticed that it keeps disconnecting and doesn't reconnect
automatically
even when his browser or email client make external requests. However he
can
reliably connect if he goes into the router's config page and presses the
Connect button. I've confirmed that it's set to "Aways On", so it
shouldn't
even be disconnecting.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Yes, I've been having this exact problem for a few weeks now (on Pipex
Midi). I've tried three routers - two BT Voyager 2110s and a BT Voyager
220V (with "unlocked" firmware) and get the same problem on all of them. In
the case of both 2110s, I can't even reconnect manually until they are
rebooted. However, all three routers reconnect automatically while logged
into any of the BT test accounts I've tried (bt_test@startup_domain,
bt_test_user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and speedtest@speedtest_domain).

If anyone has any idea what could be causing this, please let me know!
Pipex seem keen to blame the router (which is what I thought at first, but
all three? Surely not?) and BT Voyager support blame the Pipex server.

Had a similar problem with a 210, on Plusnet, also similar on Zen but
found that the ROI (Republic of Ireland) firmware was much better, put
it in my unlocked 210 and although it gives BT logo on left hand side,
it did not lock itself to BT.

220v does not seem to have a ROI version.

2091 also no ROI, there is a WB version which I think means White Box,
so probably is the unlocked verion.
