No it isn't. It's not even in the small print. The only place a customer or
potential customer would find out about it is by visiting one of the
forums/usenet and finds the post. Nice honesty there don't you think. They
are so proud what they are doing that they haven't told anyone about it and
don't even tell people that might want to signup to them.

I'd hardly say it's falling apart :?Video? Sheesh, so plusnet is prioritising video calls now? No wonderNo, SKYPE is signature detected on our network so as long asJust thought I'd let you know that I believe I've fixed the Skype
you're using the proprietary ports you should be OK. IIRC it's in
our Platinum high priority queue.
problem.
I was running version 3.0.0.x
I "downdated" to version 2.5.0.113.
That seems to have fixed the video lockups, but I lost some
features & emoticons.
their network's falling apart for everyone else.

Really? So why are you throttling all 8MB connections to 192Kbps for
6 hours a day?
Half the picture.
You're talking about binary usenet on one account type. It's hardly as
if we're throttling all traffic to 192kbps across all accounts for 6
hours a day!
And half the answer, Bob. You're throttling Usenet at 228Kbps, but
you're also throttling P2P for all Premier customers to below 450Kbps
for two thirds of the day, and to less than 200Kbps for 6 hours a day.
And remember, this is a service which PlusNet itself sells as
"Great-value broadband. Perfect for downloads" and "*With all
residential broadband products you get the maximum speed that your
telephone line can support, up to 8Mb.". And remember, Premier has
"Priority service on our network".
I feel sorry for the average person who signs up to Plusnet expecting up
to line speeds across all services, they need a solicitor to go through
the small print!
This isn't small print - it's big, and on the main entry page for product
selection! Might be fun to bung it at the ASA and see what they make of
it...
