No, SKYPE is signature detected on our network so as long as you're using the proprietary ports you should be OK. IIRC it's in our Platinum high priority queue.
Just thought I'd let you know that I believe I've fixed the Skype problem.
I was running version 3.0.0.x
I "downdated" to version 2.5.0.113.
That seems to have fixed the video lockups, but I lost some features & emoticons.
Video? Sheesh, so plusnet is prioritising video calls now? No wonder their network's falling apart for everyone else.
I'd hardly say it's falling apart :?

Really? So why are you throttling all 8MB connections to 192Kbps for 6 hours a day?

Half the picture.

You're talking about binary usenet on one account type. It's hardly as if we're throttling all traffic to 192kbps across all accounts for 6 hours a day!

The following graph depicts the number of users on our network using binary usenet services at any one time during yesterday.

It is across *all* products as well not just the one you're referring to:-

Less than 150 customers at any one time during the hours you speak of. About 425 customers at most if you look at the hours where you can obtain full line speed.

So I make that to be about 0.075% of our customer base. Now look at the volume of traffic they managed to transfer even with the restictions in place.

Take a look at the volume of traffic customers managed to transfer too.

Let's put things into perspective please. I wouldn't say this is representative of our network falling apart.

Kind Rgds,
