You're correct. I'm happy to take your word that it was rude. On the
other hand, some of the posts by customers are pretty bloody rude too.
I can imagine that at some point ones patience might snap.

Of course, CS are an easy target. As you say, you the customer can be
gratuitously offensive to them, insult their family, intelligence,
body odour, sexual preferences and so forth, safe in the knowledge
that if they for one second slip from perfect cordiality, you can have
them sacked for 'insulting a customer'. How charming people are, to
take their anger out on the defenceless. How lovely it is to see
people revelling in their power.
