Friend uses BT for telephone and Broadband Internet Provider. He used to
be with Freeserve (taken over by Wanadoo...taken over by Orange) and has
an xxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx e-mail address which he uses via BT. He says he
can't use Outlook Express for e-mail with that e address and BT broadband
unless he pays extra! Does that make sense - or has my friend got this
wrong?
Thanks. John
Usually, when the old ISP expires the account, it will also delete the old
email address. Some ISPs allow you to keep your old email address for a
nominal fee. Why don't for friend register a domain name for himself (e.g.
the domain xyz.co.uk) and point the email addresses to your ISP address.
Therefore when he decides to change ISPs again, he will still use the same
address but just change where it points to.
