Not all lines handle 1 Meg AIUI.
Ah, so the <60dB attenuation limit still applies ? despite the BTW Max
checker telling me that my line would probably support 1.5 Mb/s on
ADSLMax. So in short I'm still trapped at 512k unless I want to live
'on the cliff edge' with ADSL Max ?
(My SNR is 19dB, 1 Meg would give me an SNR of 13dB, which I'd find
comfortable, ADSLMax would give me 6dB albeit at 2 Megs, but I don't
want to risk that instability)
Safecom router: attenuation - 63.9dB, SNR 11 to 13dB (18dB at 512k)
Zyxel router: attenuation - 61dB, noise margin 13 to 17dB
The Safecom logged CRC errors on a regular basis (with no apparent degradation), but the Zyxel reports no errors (both over a couple of hours). The Safecom also ran with without problems though with increased errors at 6dB SNR.
