Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all those aerials 11a 5GHz aes and
therefore pretty useless for 11b/g? You're a lucky man if you have a
neighbour who is prepared to install an extra 11a AP and associated
cables and aerials for you to borrow some of his bandwidth!

No, I think you misunderstood. I really only asked if there were any
alternatives and Jon kindly just suggested I look at the solwise
website.
The broadband is not for me but someone else whom I helping to get
connected (and failing at the moment) :-(
