@j33g2000cwa.googlegroups.com:
Filter or line problem? Don't know - i access the router remotely when
i can't access the internet so again i'm assuming it is getting the
data to the house and not the router. How would i check the logs? Not
seen anything on the router setup for logs, but may have missed this.
Firstly, I'm assuming that seen as your post was made before the power
problems it is something completely unrelated to all the off topic
chatter about said problems.
If you can access the router whilst the connection is having trouble,
then it is unlikely to be a wireless problem as the wireless is working
well enough to allow you to access the router.
A filter problem could be anything. An extension without a filter,
filters plugged in the wrong order with splitters etc. Any of these can
cause your connection to terminate either when the phone rings or someone
picks up a phone to make a call.
There will normally be some form of logs on the router, however where
those logs are depends on the make and model of the router. What is
yours? Will see if I am familiar with it.
