I'm thinking of taking the plunge into broadband. Currently I have dial-up,

Anyway, apart from the alleged advantages of broadband I obviously want to
keep my website in one form or another. I don't want to change to broadband
and lose the chance of re-creating my website. So, if there is anyone out
there who has subscribed to BT Broadband, knows if webspace is
available...please let me know.
Why lock it into the ISP's web space ? There are quite a number of low
cost hosting services around (I once had a year's hosting and a .com
domain registration thrown in, for US$ 9.95, on Ebay, with some small
Canadian firm)... Assuming you already have a domain name (so if you
want visitors to find you on search engines, or just to bookmark your
site, it won't change every year or less, if you want to switch ISP)
then e-mail and web can be independent of any ISP you happen to use,
and a separate entity in case you are ever in dispute with the ISP!
