It takes longer than that.
You have to collect data and then process it to find the WEP key.
From memory I think you need about a gig of data to crack it.
It doesn't take much time to process the data on a fast machine.
if you use a non standard alpha numeric password you should be fine?

The key doesn't matter.
I've spent a couple of hours looking around for these tools....
(AirSnort/Kismet)
It seems as though you need a particular kind of wireless card to get
it working and it can take bloody ages...
We use wireless at work and I'm trying to find out HOW secure it
actually is...
If it uses WPA it is pretty secure.
It changes the key every few packets.
Try and avoid WPA/PSK if you already have a radius server to use.
