It really depends on what you've been looking at - in particular the
office / business category PCs will usually have more RAM and might
also have included a network card. I have certainly had to install
ethernet cards for people, where PCs came with (yuk!) 56k modems but
fortunately some of the order pages have allowed a customer to 'add'
a network card, and 'remove' the modem. For laptops, I guess they're
aiming at 'hot desking' environments and the availability of a cable
connection (whereas now a wireless connection might be assumed, but
clearly a cable may be a better/faster option). Peter M.
