I agree with the sentiment, but the same argument can be made about other
things.
Car maintenance comes to mind.
I think it's just something those with a bit of savvy will just have to live
with.

IME the majority of computer users know little about finding and fixing
faults, but it could be argued that computers should be more reliable, and
less prone to viruses, malware etc. Thus removing much of the need for users
to have more than a minimum of computer knowledge.

I would suggest that adslorg, n/g's, forums etc, are more likely to show
negative views about ISP's, than positive ones.
AFAIC PN still offer good value for money. They're cetainly competitive.
Most ISP's have a much lower maximum limit than 15GB for around £15.
At a similar price, Tiscali's n/g coverage is almost non existant, and is
not officially included in the package.
