It's been plugged into the test socket for months now after this last
happened and it made things considerably better but now its rubbish again
even with it plugged in.
Upgraded to the latest firmware this evening with mixed results. Noise
margin is now even worse most of the time - 3db at the moment, but the
crucial difference is the internet access actually works with a margin of
3db. Before the upgrade, anything less than 6db = no connectivity.
Just as I typed this it dropped to 1.5db, and this has now resulted in no
connectivity.
To be honest I'd love for it to finally be proved to be this 3com router so
I can ritually smash it to small pieces and buy something decent - I've been
having problems for a year now which I just attributed to my long line
length and 63db attenuation..
