Re: Help: JAGS EPG on Toppy not updating plus some other questions

Will this mean that the EPG will now update itself? If not how do I get it
to update itself? Am i supposed to leave it on/off at night or set some
sort of timer for it to harvest the data? How long is this likely to take?

In Jag's, you can do a quick manual scan of all the channels by
pressing Play twice while the EPG is up; the box will scan through all
the channels, spending a few seconds on each, and saving the data to
the buffer.

TIMERS
I note that in the timer listings a T2 and T1 appear which I presume is for
which tuner will record the programme, but why does it sometimes say T4?

If you use T1 or T2, you'll run into problems eventually; you should
change the default (press Menu while Jag's is on screen) to T4, which
is what the built in software uses, and effectively means "whichever
tuner is free." Jag's allows you to select tuners because it was
originally written when the box itself let you do that; tuner selection
has been automatic since long before the box was launched in the UK.

Not using T4 means that, sooner or later, you'll miss a recording
because the tuner you've selected is being used for something else.

SOUND
I have also just noticed that on some recordings when i start the playback
the sound is fine - if i move fwd (quick presses of FFW up to X6) then press
play sound is fine BUT if I hold down the FFW button to quickly move to say
35 mins into prog then press play the pic is ok but i get no sound ;( I
then have to go into the sound menu and change it from "auto" to "eng" and
then the sound comes back. Not aware of making any setting changes to
sound, so has anyone experienced this before and have a solution?

This sounds like one of the issues with the current firmware where the
soundtrack selection gets messed up follow a jump; it most often
happens when jumping about playing back a TV recording, with the box
set to radio mode.
