Consequently, it is not clear whether the incident would fall
within the jurisdiction of the Trading Standards Depart that
deals with Norbury - or Trading Standards at North Devon
Council.

INCORRECT
when it lists 08707777375 as resolving to our number of 01271
325777.

Thank you for that clarification.

My own "digging" had identified a discrepancy between the names
of the two businesses (Skylite v. Satellite & Digital Services
Ltd).  I also noticed that the businesses appeared to be located
in different parts of the UK.

Based upon the 01271 area code, I conducted a search against both
business names in North Devon, using the on-line BT directory
enquiry service.  That search produced an error message - 'This
business could not be found.  The number you are searching for
may be ex-directory'.

Armed with the additional information you have now provided, I
searched today against your business name (SDS) and also against
the wild card version (Satellite*).  Once again, BT Directory
Enquiries could not find any trace of your business name in the
EX31 or EX39 postcodes.  However, a search against the business
TYPE "Satellite TV Services and Equipment" in EX31 does show SDS
as the first entry.

I do not have access to a hard copy of your local telephone
directory, so I don't know whether your business appears
correctly in the alphabetical listings.

However, you may want to enquire why the on-line version of the
directory does identify your business by name.

Hi, yes yours was the only post warning not to jump the gun so thank
you for that. We do have a listing in the local BT so we will indeed
find out why we don't appear online properly. Saynoto0870 seems to
have removed the page so thanks to them for a prompt response.
