I can't see the point in doing that on a standard Digibox.
There is very little difference in power consumption when
the box is on compared to (so-called) standby.
I wonder if the feature is disabled by default?
If not there are going to be a lot of night owls
calling sky to log the "fault".

Chegs.
If I have set the machine to copy to tape some programmes, will these
continue to be copied or will this feature interrupt?
Sky+ and Sky HD receivers record onto an integral hard disk drive.
Consequently, placing the receiver into standby mode will not affect the
integral recording function in any way. In fact, standby mode is
preferable, if you intend to record from two different channels
simultaneously.
However, if you intend to transfer a recorded program from Sky+ or Sky
HD onto a separate VHS videotape recorder - then, the standby function
might interrupt the recording if you leave the receiver unattended
between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.
According to the Sky Press release, it is possible to switch off Auto
Standby via an option in the Settings menu of the Sky Guide. Go to
Services, 5 (Sky+ Setup), Auto-Standby: set to off. This should
prevent the problem you describe.
