Is Sky remotely turning boxes on to stand-by over night?
Only asking as ours is on stand-by every morning but we don't put it this
way at night.
TIA
Dave
Hopefully a simple answer, which is Yes.
Some receivers have received a software update that puts boxes into
standby overnight.
I believe you can switch off this feature via the system set-up menu.
However, my receivers have not received the update, so I can't provide any
further details.
I can't see the point in doing that on a standard Digibox.
There is very little difference in power consumption when
the box is on compared to (so-called) standby.
I wonder if the feature is disabled by default?
If not there are going to be a lot of night owls
calling sky to log the "fault".
