I have a panasonic sky box which is about 6 years old. It runs via
scart to an LCD tv. On some channels, most noteably Channel 4, if I am
watching with output set to RGB, I get serious pixellation and picture
breakup. If I switch to PAL, I can watch a lower quality picture
without break up. RGB works fine with BBC1,2,3,4, ITV1,2,3 and Channel
5.
Picture quality and signal strength both show at least three quarters,
if not more.
Any idea whether this is the box, cable or dish? Any help gratefully
received.
If its the box, any idea what Sky charge for a replacement?
Thanks
Babber
"If its the box, any idea what Sky charge for a replacement?".
Your digibox has probably developed a fault. (See previous responses to
your query).
The standard charge for a Sky service call is £65. This is a fixed
charge, labour plus ALL parts and materials. If necessary, Sky will
replace your digibox (with a refurbished model) at no extra charge.
Unlike some of Sky's prices, this is pretty good value.
All repairs and replacement parts are covered by a 3 month warranty.
To book a service call, Sky would like you to phone 0870 240 4040. The
cheaper alternative telephone number for Sky Customer Services is 01506
831781.
