Last night, at around 8pm, we were watching a recorded programme when the
Sky+ box dropped into standby.
The box wouldn't turn back on, with either the remote or the front panel
switch, and it was only after about 10-15 minutes that it responded again.
Early on during this time, I powered the box off at the mains for 30+
seconds but this didn't fix the problem, but when I repeated the process
several minutes later (what turns out to be towards the end of the
outage), the box returned to normal working (although, of course, I don't
know whether this was due to my actions or whether it would have happened
anyway).
The box has operated normally for the rest of the evening.
Can anyone offer an explanation for this?
Mine did the same thing at the same time. V1 box.
Which might suggest that the event was attributable to Sky ...
At around 9pm last night, this happened again. It was about 15 mins before
the box would respond.
Hmm. And for me too. Cocked up two recordings as well.
If it wasn't a premium rate number, and I had any faith in Sky's ability to
tell the truth ("nobody else has reported this"), I would call them and ask
for an explanation.
